Built on 59 spacious acres on the highest point in Davidson County, TriStar Skyline is an ultra-modern facility, featuring all private patient rooms and valet parking. Located at the intersection of I-65, Briley Parkway, and Dickerson Pike and overlooking downtown Nashville, TriStar Skyline is easily accessible to citizens throughout middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky.
TriStar Skyline is recognized nationally for its neuroscience services, and was the first hospital in Tennessee to earn “Primary Stroke Care Center” Certification from the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Additionally, according to Health Grades, the nation’s healthcare quality experts, Skyline is the only hospital in the region to have earned the top rating, Five Stars, in treatment of stroke patients for three years. Skyline is also among the nation’s top hospitals for back and neck surgery, having achieved Five Stars for the past four consecutive years.
In addition to its neuroscience services, TriStar Skyline is also known for its cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics, rehabilitation and emergency services. TriStar Skyline’s campus is also home to the 200,000 square-foot TriStar Skyline Medical Plaza, providing convenient access to physician offices and a pharmacy. Fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, TriStar Skyline is part of the TriStar Health family of hospitals, the most comprehensive healthcare network in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
A Rich History
The late Dr. Thomas F. Frist (1910-1998), co-founder of HCA, TriStar Skyline’s parent company, envisioned a new hospital north of downtown Nashville that would exceed the expectations of patients and families in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. He was personally involved in selecting the site and the concept for TriStar Skyline. But Dr. Frist envisioned more than a state-of-the art facility for TriStar Skyline. He once said, “it is not bricks and mortar and equipment that make a hospital. It is the warmth and compassion and attitude of good employees which leads to quality care.” In honor of Dr. Frist, Sr., a statue of the late HCA co-founder graces the lobby of Skyline. Nationally renowned sculptor Alan Lequire created the statue. Lequire is best known today for his monumental Athena Partheonos, the largest indoor statue in the western world, located at the Parthenon in Nashville.
