Advanced imaging technology

We use the latest advancements in technology to ensure you receive a detailed diagnosis. At our facility, you have access to:

  • Cardiac catheterization (cath) lab — Our flat panel, digital cardiac cath lab uses imaging technology to generate a lower dose of radiation and sharper images. These images allow physicians to make a more accurate diagnosis of your heart condition.
  • Picture archiving communication system (PACS) — PACS allows physicians to view your digital imaging study results within minutes of your exam. It also enables your doctor to read your results remotely from their home or office to receive your diagnosis and treatment faster.

Mammograms

We provide access to the most advanced imaging technology to identify and detect breast cancer early, including digital mammography and minimally invasive image-guided breast biopsies.

Mammograms are an essential screening procedure to help identify breast disease in women. This is why we are committed to providing you with high-quality breast imaging. Accredited by the American College of Radiology, our mammograms use safe amounts of low-dose radiation to see clear and accurate images of the inside of the breast.

Schedule Your Mammogram Online

We offer the following mammogram procedures:

  • Screening mammogram — A technologist takes two X-ray images of each breast to identify any changes that cannot be identified during a self-check breast exam for women with no signs of breast cancer.
  • Diagnostic mammogram — If there are any changes in your breast tissues, your physician will recommend a diagnostic mammogram to take magnified images from different angles of the tissue in question to visualize the area in more detail.
  • Stereotactic breast biopsy — If there are any abnormalities present, you may also undergo an additional test in which your technologist uses mammography to identify a sample of tissue and remove it for biopsy.

Scheduling your diagnostic test

Most outpatient tests require a written order from your physician with specific details about the test you need.

What to know before your appointment

Getting to your appointment

We are located on the main floor of the hospital. Please come through the main hospital entrance and stop at registration before your scheduled appointment. We offer complimentary valet and lot parking for your convenience.

Our address is:

3441 Dickerson Pike
Nashville, TN 37207

How to prepare for your mammogram

Before your mammography appointment, we recommend you take the following into account:

  • Avoid scheduling your mammogram during the week before your menstrual cycle when your breasts are tender.
  • Wear a two-piece outfit, so you only have to remove your top during the exam.
  • Do not wear any deodorant, perfume, powder or lotion under your arms or on your breasts. These substances distort your images, potentially causing a false-positive or false-negative result.

Additionally, we offer online scheduling for mammography appointments. Enter your information online before you arrive to save time at the hospital. Please pre-register for your mammogram at least 48 hours before your hospital visit to allow enough time for information processing.
