Anterior approach to hip replacement
The anterior approach to hip replacement allows surgeons to access the hip joint through an incision on the front of the hip. This approach does not displace muscle tissue, lessening the impact of the surgery. The anterior approach to hip replacement is a minimally invasive surgical procedure and results in a smaller scar and a shorter recovery time than traditional total hip replacement surgery.
The Hana® Table gives surgeons a new platform on which to perform the direct anterior approach to total hip replacement. This specially designed table allows for the precise placement of a patient’s body during the procedure. The freedom to reposition the patient for optimal access to the hip joint gives surgeons a significant advantage over procedures performed on traditional, flat operating tables.
